details

this workshop is for women approaching peri-menopause or menopause, or anyone who would like to simply learn about the tools we currently have to ease many common symptoms, making this transition empowering.

in our Western culture, it has felt taboo to talk about many things in regard to women's health.

because of this, many women that we have talked to have felt alone during these chapters, and without a deeper understanding of what is happening to their bodies and what to do when "what they've always done" doesn't suffice anymore.

from monthly cycles to postpartum to menopause and beyond, these transitions are powerful initiations into different phases of life for women, and that also have physiological effects that we haven't quite had the answers for.

thankfully, we are slowly learning more about women's unique makeup, and in turn are beginning to openly talk about how to work with different natural remedies to ease some of the not-so-fun symptoms these transitions can bring up.

we are creating this workshop because we know this transition is not openly talked about, and research shows that the sooner we begin to use natural remedies and understand treatment options for our fluctuating hormones, the better this chapter of life is.

as women, our bodies are powerful, holding the ability to create life.

this next phase of life is just as beautiful, holding the ability to share deep wisdom and impact the community in impactful ways. The better we feel, the better we can show up.

if you are reading this and are not in this phase of life yet, or out of menopause, please send this to someone you know who could benefit, or come to learn!

we are all in this together. We can't wait to meet you!

1. Susannah will be discussing the top 3 most common symptoms of perimenopause and menopause including weight gain, sleep issues and mood. She will provide natural remedies that can help with this transition and also dive deep into hormone replacement therapy, and how to know if it's the best option for you.

2. Jourdan and Niccole (owners of KALO Fitness, a women's specific strength training facility) will be discussing the latest research for strength training recommendations for this transitionary period, and will provide 5 virtual workouts that can be done from home. They will also dive deeper into protein needs, how to know you're getting enough, and the importance of protein in the diet during this period.

3. the Green Collective Eatery will be providing a protein-rich meal for all participants so we can connect and break bread together!

4. an open Q&A for all participants.

5. a supportive and friendly environment. Expect to laugh, break the taboo of this topic, and make some new friends. We are all in this together as women. Come to learn and have fun!

6. you will go home with a printed booklet that will be your essential guide to navigating peri-menopause and menopause successfully.

our team at KALO Fitness and Yogando has teamed up with Susannah Kerwin, HNP/ANP-BC, who specializes in functional medicine and root causes to properly treat and pinpoint issues that can many times get overlooked in traditional medical practices.

she also works specifically with women moving into peri menopause and menopause and will be discussing the most common things that come along with this to provide holistic options for treatment.

The word Kalo is derived from the greek word Kalon, meaning beauty that is more than skin deep. When we clarify what we stand for in life and start living accordingly - embodying the person we strive to be, doing the things that matter deep in our hearts, moving in life directions we consider worthy - then our lives become infused with meaning and purpose, and we experience a profound sense of vitality and internal motivation to take care of these vessels we are in.
